Sheep Over Beef

Do you want to know why we use Sheep over Beef?

Or why our Tallow might be at a slightly higher price point than other Tallow out there?

We would love to explain... We have access to Sheep and enjoy hanging out with them on the farm we frequently spend time. We know how the Sheep are treated and have seen their environment first hand. Happy Sheep means happy Tallow. This Farm in particular is apart of an organization that helps Veterans and people with PTSD and Traumatic Brain injuries heal after trauma. That's impact I will gladly support...

Sheep Tallow has a higher concentration of Omega 3 and Omega 6 like oleic and stearic acids, which are beneficial for skin hydration and elasticity giving it a lighter feel on your skin and spreading easier. It's also the reason why our customers have been saying their makeup goes on better and has an overall smoother look.

Beef tallow has a higher concentration of palmitic acid, which can be more saturated and potentially lead to a heavier feel on the skin. It also has more saturated fat than sheep which can actually add to breakouts. Not less...

Sheep Tallow has slightly more Vit E than Beef as well. Vit E is known for helping with scars and healing problem skin. Having a higher content without adding more separately seemed like a no brainer.

It also has Lanolin which has skin protective properties. If you've ever nursed a baby and used Lanolin to help with chapped nipples you definitely understand why Sheep is the best choice.

Apple Orchard

Mountain Man Apples

Our honey comes from a local orchard near canyon ferry lake. We use their apple blossom honey as a sweetener but also as an ingredient in our whipped body butter. Our family loves to go visit in the fall. We pick apples that are later made into cider, apple cider vinegar, apple pie filling, apple butter and dehydrated apples chips.
